A dedicated provider of exceptional quality energy and lubricant products to commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential customers in rural Ontario. Whether you require heat for your home, fuel for your car, or energy and lubricant products for your farm or business, you can count on the best in quality, value and service from UPI Energy LP and our Group of Companies.
As a 50/50 Joint Venture of Suncor Energy Products Inc. and GROWMARK, Inc., UPI Energy LP is a fully independent province-wide marketer of petroleum, propane, lubricants and related energy services to rural Ontario. On an annual basis, UPI markets approximately half a billion litres of petroleum, propane and lubricant products to thousands of customers including the Agricultural Member Co-operatives. Agricultural Member Co-operatives are by far, one of UPI’s key success factors.
Innovative and Committed to the Environment
UPI is renowned for pioneering the marketing of Ethanol-blended gasolines throughout Ontario. Ethanol-blended gasolines are a mixture of gasoline and alcohol, made from corn grown in Ontario, and burn cleaner lessening the burden on the environment. With the opening of its first EnviroStation™ in Woodstock, Ontario in August 2001, UPI became the first energy supplier in Canada to utilize modern, cost effective, above ground storage and dispensing technology in the construction of a retail gasoline outlet. UPI has since opened EnviroStation™ in Glencoe, St. Catharines, Chatham, Sarnia and Leamington.
In August 2003, UPI continued its commitment to the environment with the introduction of DIESEL3000™, a blend of methyl ester produced from soybean oil and UPI’s high quality conventional diesel fuel. UPI became the first in Ontario to retail biodiesel to the agricultural community.
Xtreme93, UPI’s newest high-octane, premium gasoline was introduced to their performance-seeking consumers in July 2011. Xtreme93 has an octane rating of 93 and like UPI’s other gasolines, it is blended with Ethanol making it less harmful to the environment.
Group of Companies
In March 2004, UPI expanded its lubricants operations, with the acquisition of CASE ’N DRUM OIL Corporation. This purchase catapulted UPI into one of the top positions within Ontario’s lubricant distribution and packaging industry. Today, CASE ’N DRUM OIL LP operates out of its London facility and will continue to provide the excellence in value and service that customers expect from both UPI and CASE ’N DRUM OIL.
In November 2004, UPI expanded its family with the addition of Damar Fuels, an independent petroleum business which operated in Elmira with a trading area covering Kitchener-Waterloo, Arthur, Fergus and surrounding areas. The addition of Ed Taylor Fuels in Cambridge followed in January 2007, further expanding UPI’s petroleum, gas bar and cardlock business.
In June 2010, Tango Fuels in Putnam and Beselaere Fuels & Lubricants in Delhi, joined the UPI family. This acquisition furthered UPI’s mission "to remain the standard by which others are measured in providing energy products and services to rural Ontario."
In November 2011, Scott Fuels in Woodstock became a part of the UPI family. This acquisition fits exceptionally well into UPI’s core business model and culture of safety, hard work and innovation.
